Carefully choose the right size of the trap - the larger trap is intended for rat-sized animals, while the smaller trap is designed for mouse-sized animals. Do not use a larger trap for mouse-sized animals, as they may not be strong enough to activate the trap, and the bait may be consumed without triggering the mechanism. Conversely, do not use a smaller trap for rat-sized animals, as the rat may be too big for the trap to effectively kill. If the rat is not injured when activating the trap, it can return and eat the bait from the deactivated trap.

Tips & Tricks:

If the trap is still set and the bait is gone, try using a solid type of bait and tying it up using the two small holes provided for this purpose. This will require the rat to put in more effort to acquire the bait, increasing the chances of activating the trap.

If the trap was tripped and the bait is gone, it seems that the trap was too sensitive and prematurely activated. In this case, we recommend reducing the sensitivity. See the attached manual for instructions. Using a solid bait tied to the pedal can also help increase the chances of trapping the rat.

If a caught rat escaped with the trap, use the holes in the platform of the trap to nail or screw it to the base, preventing the rat from escaping.
