The trap has been designed to simulate a human being. A single fan sucks the attracted mosquitoes into a catch bag. The air stream is then diverted and exits the trap through the white upper surface. This air stream mimics the typical convection currents produced by a warm human body. The contrast between the dark center and the light surface is an additional important attractive signal for the mosquitoes, and completes the capture method. Carbon dioxide from an artificial nose is added to the air stream in order to increase the spectrum of the mosquitoes captured, and maximize the capture rate. The emission rate corresponds to that of a toddler or an infant.

The sturdy plastic trap is designed to be used in your backyard. It should be placed in shady, wind-protected and humid places, near resting areas such as under/near bushes. If breeding sites can not be avoided, a place nearby is also a good location for the trap. Do not place the trap directly on the patio or in direct sunlight! Continuously operate the trap (24 hours a day). Begin operating the trap early in the mosquito season! With the right positioning, the trap will catch the mosquitoes before they reach the patio and annoy you.
